12" macbook spacebar only works if I press hard multiple times. I've had lots of problems with other keys too. has anyone found solutions? Is Apple aware of any consistent issues with the keyboard on this laptop?

Certain aspects of the keyboard among some users has been noted in this ASC discussions section.
In advance of a visit, you could arrange an appointed time for visit with Genius at Apple Store so the
unit can be looked at and some kind of idea or suggestion on what to do next be determined there.
If there is no Apple Store with Genius bar, you may ask a qualified AASP to look into the matter;
also if there is a warranty the cure may involve replacement of keyboard assembly. Other users
had inquired of removing single keys (to clean beneath) or using compressed air to dislodge dust
and yet if you remove the keys, certain small springy parts may break or fail to go back in OK.
Some replacement key-face and spring parts for the 12-inch MacBook (retina) are available.
